Evolve™ is the culmination of back to basics testing and challenging the practices of the last 50 years in the hydrogen generation industry, combined with new materials and new approaches.
Evolve™ is an onsite hydrogen generator that converts ordinary tap water into pure fuel grade hydrogen. It will produce hydrogen for ½ to ¼ of the electricity of our competitors. It will be mass manufactured for an eighth of the cost of current units, and will outlive them by 12 times.
Evolve™ will produce hydrogen onsite, which eliminates shipping costs and means far fewer gas storage requirements. With a scalable approach, we’re able to create custom configurations through 3D design and injection molding.
Evolve™ established its proof of concept on December 8, 2015, through experiments performed at SUNY Farmingdale Institute Research Technology Transfer. Gilman Industries scheduled tests in deionized water and tap water to determine: if Evolve™ was making pure hydrogen; if Evolve™ was able to isolate oxygen away from the hydrogen; and if we could get hydrogen purity from tap water. The tests were conclusive, and were verified by Dr. Hazem Tawfik PH. D & PE. Professor of Mechanical Engineering Technology at SUNY Farmingdale, and the Director of the Institute for Research and Technology.
Evolve™ received purity scores from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute – Center for Future Energy Systems on October 1, 2016. The test showed that Evolve was producing hydrogen at 99.32% purity. Later we learned that this score was achieved with leaks in our containment vessel. The leaks were easily correctable, and we could have achieved > 99.97% hydrogen purity without leaks.
Evolve™ received its patent on October 26, 2016 (patent # US9476133). We have the following patents pending in Canada, Europe and the World Patentry Organization: CA2900853A1, EP2976446A4, & WO2014153389A1.
Evolve™ is scalable. Thanks to 3D file structure and injection molding, we can scale Evolve™ to fit the needs of customers in a wide range of markets, from large scale industrial use to portable “Hydrogen with a Handle”.
